To change something, build a new model that makes the old model obsolete."

About UsJustice for all is an ideal that most of us long to believe in, and many have died for. But the reality is that justice in the American legal system often requires a substantial financial investment that most Americans cannot afford. So what's the solution? What steps can we take to make our ideal of justice for all a reality for the average citizen?
Pro Se Nation seeks to ignite a passion for understanding the law and legal principles in the average American so that he or she, empowered with information and insight, will be prepared to challenge the assumptions upon which we operate and envision and stand for positive change. Why Pro Se Nation? ‘Pro se’ is a Latin phrase that means ‘for oneself’ and is most commonly used to refer to those who self-represent or proceed in a legal dispute without an attorney. Using the Latin phrase in a more expanded way -- “Pro Se Nation” is an organization dedicated to helping American citizens better understand the law and legal principles 'for themselves.' Think of this as a 'Do It Yourself' site to better understand the law, legal principles and the philosophy and history of law. This site does not provide legal advice or services, but can help you to understand how the law affects different aspects of your life and how you can begin to research and address legal disputes that may arise and how to find the most appropriate legal advice when needed. We believe, that as American citizens, it is vital that we all understand the laws that support the rights and freedoms we enjoy in this country. Living in different centuries, champions of freedom Simon Wiesenthal and Alexander Spencer said it best, "There is no freedom without justice." The Vision: Pro Se Nation will take many forms and provide a variety of resources to help the average non-lawyer better understand the law and legal principles. |
